History

Good morning and happy Friday. You made it. History. We all hated it in school. Ok I did. I love it now. History channel is the best. What is it for? What do we take from it? Who cares? Is it really relevant? I'll never use this stuff. Sound familiar? Well, the history of where our salvation comes from is all that and then some. In it we learn that God can do anything. He cannot lie. If He speaks it, it is. That's incredible. So for the ages He has told us Himself and through His son Jesus all the things we need to know. So if it doesn't get handed down and passed on, the ones coming up behind us our doomed. But isn't it amazing that the people in the times it happened didn't listen. Lot and His family were told not to look back. His wife is now a pillar is salt because she didn't listen. He's not playing a game. It's real and it's serious. They have been trying for decades to find ways to disprove the Bible. All the science in the world hasn't and can't. It's time this generation rose up and stood their ground on the truths of the Bible. And it's not by shouting it at the top of our lungs. But by living it every day with the love in our heart. In love always. <><

God is Good Part II

Good morning and happy Thursday. Part II. So I had reached the end of my rope and was about to end it. God shows up in a text of all things and and I recommit myself to Him. Ok so why, at this point in my life did all of this happen? My marriage is over, I've lost my job of 15 yrs, and for the last year and a half I've come to grips with the loss of a child. Well, I was able to help someone else with the loss of their unborn child was probably the biggest thing and as for the rest, it's got me back on track with my relationship with God. But I don't think He's done yet with all that. Theres more to it. We have to be able to use our trials and how we lean on and get carried by God to give hope to the hopeless. Our trials are like the gym for our spirit. We get it into shape and then compete in the race. None of us should think we don't deserve trials in our lives. And none of us should think we don't deserve the good that God has for us either. I deserve to die. He did it for me. And has a child of God I will have, do have, good in my life. Use your past for others but don't stay tethered to it so it brings you down. God is good and only wants the best for us. In love always <><

He Shows Up in the Strangest Ways

Good morning and happy Wednesday. I used to not text at all and thought the whole idea was rather silly to begin with. This goes to God's humor in my life. A little mini series here for a bit so you get an understanding of where I come from with this stuff. God has used things in our lives to help us along the way. And to make it clear that it's Him, he sometimes uses what we like the least. So, I reached a point where I was coming to the texting age pretty good and at the same time my real life had, and was falling apart. I was divorced and unemployed and losing my kids to cps. Had found out that I had a child that was not born while a teenager too. She even was given a name and a birthday and has a special place in my life now. Because as my world was coming apart, I had decided to leave it. And the plans were made and I was leaving to go do what I thought was best, God showed up. With a simple text from out of the blue. It simply said "Have you thought of Amy today". God used a text message to a person who wasn't fond of it to save his life. That's where this begins. He will do whatever He has to get your attention. I could have ignored it and gone on. But He plucked a heart string that still plays music to me now. So this I do for Him. Listen for Him to talk to you. Hear Him today. In love always. <><

He's Still Here

Good morning and happy Tuesday. Stories. We tell them all the time to make a point or show what we've seen or heard. Stories are mans way of saying what happened. The stories in the Bible are the same thing. A way to pass on the things that happened and tell what God has done. But it doesn't just stop there. That's not the end. When the Bible was put out to be read, God didn't say " Well that's it I'm done now. Let them learn what I taught them and I hope they do well". It just seems to me that a lot of people don't buy the fact that He's just as active in our lives and world as He was with Abraham and Moses. It's their stories that got told because they listened to God and followed His instructions. Not easily or without hesitation but still did it. Live your life so your story of what God does is told for ages to come. Follow what He is calling you to do. In love always. <><

Who WIns

Good morning and happy Monday. I saw a commercial for March Madness this weekend. It showed the fans glued to the TV and the clock was counting down. The shot went up, the buzzer sounded. Swoosh, the people went crazy. Popcorn in the air and all that stuff. But in the background of one shot was a guy with his head down. His team lost. It's easy to forget the other side when you're winning. And in life if you haven't really experienced losing at it, you may not get it. There is a war waged for your soul. It's played out every day all day. And the winner and loser is determined by you. It's the choices we make that decided who's tossing popcorn and who's head is down. Because we believe in God, do good things, and go to church doesn't mean that God wins. Are you sharing His word? Are you loving God with all your heart and your neighbor too? And it's not God or Satan that win or lose. In the end it's us. It's our choices and the ability of our hearts to be shaped by the love of what Jesus did for us on a cross. Until we truly get what's been done for us, we may not make it. That's the team I want on. He's bought me and now I need to play the game for Him. In love always <><.
